A shout out on #internationalwomensday to this amazing lady who inspired me so much. Sadly grandma Jones isn’t with us anymore, but her legend lives on. This lady always told me I could be anything I put my mind to and that being a girl shouldn’t hold me back. Her stories about going to football matches when she was a young woman (to see her beloved Man City) when ladies didn’t feel welcome, and that frankly she didn’t care, made me so happy. We miss you, but thanks to you, I’ve never believed being a girl, or being a mum should make me any less capable. An absolute trailblazer and so ahead of her time. Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them and may we inspire them. #myhero #legend

There’s no such thing as Blue Monday (holiday companies like to sell you holidays using that term), but there is such a thing as Brew Monday! And looking out for colleagues and friends isn’t just confined to the third Monday in Jan either, let’s make sure it happens all year, but any excuse to catch up over a brew and some cake is always welcome by me! Not all skills are learnt in the workplace. Before becoming a parent I often chose to stick around in the office late to get things done, I don’t have that option now, so I have learnt to work smarter and prioritise. Today proved to me I have learnt many new things which I don’t even think about and often overlook because it wasnt learnt on a course or in an office. We threw a party for my 5 year old for 30 small people to celebrate his birthday which my husband and I organised, managed and catered. Something I wouldn’t have done five years ago. And small people aren’t always an easy crowd 😂 Having kids has helped me learn so many new skills which I bring with me to work. I might need more flexibility sometimes to get a good balance, but it’s helped me learn so much more and be better at my job in so many ways. You can always learn new things that benefit you and it doesn’t always have to be at work to count 🥰 Parenting is one example, but there are many more and they shouldn’t be underestimated #workingmum #worklifebalance #learninganddevelopment

Six years ago I had the pleasure of escorting these wonderful and brave people to @bbcbreakfast to launch #smalltalksaveslives This is a campaign a that changed how the rail industry worked to prevent suicide. I still get Goosebumps when I watch the launch film. It has saved thousands of lives and has been so incredible that I think sometimes we forget that once it didn’t actually exist. Now it’s on the back of tickets, our van fleet and is a shining example of a multichannel campaign and the power of communications when everyone works together. What a campaign and what a moment. It’s won hundreds of awards and still continues to save lives today. Your genius lives on Lisa Russell. Working on this with you and Donna Mitchell is still one of my proudest moments in my career.
