“There is a lot of beauty in ordinary things. "Isn't that the point?", mentions Pam Beesley, Jenna Fischer's character in the final scene of the last episode of The Office. A reflection that really moves any fan of the famous series developed by Greg Daniels, but that also evokes the path of each of the actors who starred in this peculiar sitcom in the mockumentary style. 10 years after its emotional ending, the question remains: How “ordinary” have the lives of the cast members been and where are they now?

After the recent reunion of John Krasinski with Steve Carell in the recordings of Imaginary Friends, almost 11 years after saying goodbye to the Dunder Mifflin office, it is time to do a brief review of each of the protagonists and how their careers have evolved and personal sphere.

Steve Carell, the controversial and adorable Michael Scott, oriented his career towards more dramatic cinema since 2014 with roles in films such as Foxcatcher, earning his first Oscar nomination, and in Beautiful Boy and Welcome to Marwen. In addition, he has participated in series such as The Morning Show, Space Force and The Patient, and lent his voice to more children's titles such as the Despicable Me saga, where he played Gru, and the recent Imaginary Friends, where he plays Blue. On a personal level, Carell has been married since 1995 to Nancy Walls, with whom he has had two children: Elisabeth Anne (2001) and John (2004).

After saying goodbye to Jim Halpert, John Krasinski opened up to the action genre and in 2018 he became CIA analyst Jack Ryan for the Prime Video series of the same name. Later, he participated in other films such as 3 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and Detroit: Conflict Zone. Married to actress Emily Blunt since 2010, he is not only the father of two girls, but also the director of the A Quiet Place trilogy, where he has also acted alongside his wife. Currently, he is in the midst of promoting his animated film Imaginary Friends, where he directs and provides his voice.

Rainn Wilson, the hilarious Dwight, is another of the performers who has continued his acting career participating in series such as Star Trek: Discovery, Room 104, Transparent and The Rookie, in addition to having a recurring role in Mom and a main role in the series Prime Video's science fiction film, Utopia. Recently, he participated in an AT&T campaign, where he reunited with some of his former The Office castmates and hosts his own podcast titled Soul Boom. Wilson has been married to writer Holiday Reinhorn since 1995 and they have a son named Walter McKenzie.

After the series finale, Jenna Fischer starred alongside Oliver Hudson in the ABC comedy Splitting Up Together, which was canceled after two seasons. She also appeared in films such as Daddy's Steps, alongside Ben Stiller, and 15:17 Train to Paris, directed by Clint Eastwood. With her co-star Angela Kinsey, she started the Office Ladies podcast, centered on the series. Fischer, who was married to James Gunn until 2007, married screenwriter Lee Kirk in 2010, with whom she has two children, Weston Lee and Harper Marie.

Angela Kinsey, known for her role as a cat-loving accountant on The Office, appeared on Splitting Up Together alongside Jenna Fischer before launching her podcast. She has appeared in New Girl, Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O'Neals and A.P. Bio, and starred in Netflix's Haters Back Off. Kinsey appeared in the Netflix films My Level and its sequel, and was a guest panelist on MTV's Deliciousness. In 2016, she married actor and baker Joshua Snyder, after previously being married to Warren Lieberstein, with whom she has a daughter.

Playing the Cornell graduate in The Office, Ed Helms achieved box office success with The Hangover trilogy. Following the end of The Office, Helms starred in several films, including comedies such as Vacation (2015) and Tag (2018), as well as the drama Chappaquiddick (2017). In 2021 he co-created and starred in the comedy Rutherford Falls and starred alongside Jennifer Garner in the Netflix film Troubled Family in late 2023. Helms is married and has a daughter, although he has never publicly revealed the name of either daughter.

Following her move from the writers' room to in front of the camera on The Office, Mindy Kaling starred in The Mindy Project and created the Netflix comedies Champions and Never Have I Ever, as well as The Sex Lives of College Girls on HBO Max. Additionally, she lent her voice to animated films such as Wreck-It Ralph, Inside Out, and her most recent project: Velma. She also acted in A Journey in Time, Ocean's 8: The Hustlers and They Rule. Currently, Kaling has two children and B.J. Novak is the godfather of both.

B.J. Novak began his career on The Office as a screenwriter and actor, playing Ryan, the questionable young intern. After receiving five Emmy nominations as a producer on the series, he continued acting and writing, and in 2014 published a collection of short stories titled One More Thing: Stories and Other Stories. Likewise, he participated in supporting roles in Walt's Dream, The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Electro and Power Hunger. His last project was in 2022, when he wrote, directed and starred in the comedy Revenge.

Melora Hardin, known for her role as Jan, has had a prolific career with appearances on Gilmore Girls, Outlaw, CSI: Miami, Scandal and The Blacklist, recurring roles on Monk and Transparent, and as a regular on Wedding Band and The Bold Type. She participated in films such as 27 Dresses, 17 Again and You, the latter also directed by her. She debuted on Broadway in Chicago as Roxie Hart and competed on season 30 of Dancing with the Stars, reaching the semifinals. Hardin has been married to actor Gildart Jackson since 1997, with whom she has two daughters.

After achieving fame with the series, Oscar Nuñez has participated in other TV fictions such as Benched, People of Earth and Mr. Iglesias, in addition to some appearances in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Shameless, American Housewife and The Goldbergs. He is recognized for his performances in the 2017 film Baywatch and in the 2022 films, Disenchanted and The Lost City, the latter alongside Sandra Bullock, his co-star in The Proposal. Nuñez has been married since 2011 to actress Ursula Whittaker, with whom he has a daughter.

Leslie David Baker changed his lukewarm attitude in fiction for a happier tone by lending his voice to animated furry friends Frank and Rufus in Puppy Dog Pals in 2017. He has made guest appearances in series such as Marry Me, Scorpion and Life in Pieces , and has appeared in the films Wish I Was Here and The Happytime Murders. Among the most notable is the Kickstarter campaign that began in 2020 to raise funds for the pilot of a spin-off of The Office titled Uncle Stan. However, the project remains on hold indefinitely.

Brian Baumgartner has maintained an active career after The Office, making appearances on Hot in Cleveland, Mike & Molly, Criminal Minds, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Chicago Fire and The Goldbergs. Additionally, he has worked as a voice actor in the Netflix series, Trash Truck. Like Fischer and Kinsey, Baumgartner launched his own podcast about the history of The Office.

Kate Flannery has alternated between guest roles on various television shows such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl, American Housewife, Young Sheldon and Magnum P.I., participation in digital short films and voice work in several video games. She had a recurring role on the animated series Steven Universe and competed on season 28 of Dancing with the Stars. Flannery met her long-term partner, NBC photographer Chris Haston, on the set of The Office.

Since the series ended, Creed Bratton has taken on various minor roles in series such as Adventure Time, Franklin & Bash, Grace and Frankie, Upload and PBC. However, Bratton has focused more of his attention on his music, being a former member of the rock band the Grass Roots, and has released several albums since the end of The Office.

Phyllis Smith has parlayed her role on the series into other memorable roles, including an acclaimed performance as the voice of Sadness in the 2015 Pixar film, Inside Out. She also had a recurring role on Netflix's The OA. Smith has made guest appearances on Trophy Wife and The Middle, and the 2021 comedy, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.

Craig Robinson's involvement in the series fueled his path to stardom, starring in comedies such as Hot Tub Time Machine and its 2015 sequel. He had a recurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and is known for his collaborations with Seth Rogen on Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, This Is the End and Sausage Party. His sitcom, Mr. Robinson, aired on NBC for six episodes, and he was the host of The Masked Dancer. In 2022, he starred in the Peaco*ck series Killing It. Robinson has also had several successful endorsem*nt deals, appearing in advertisem*nts for Pizza Hut, Walmart, Procter & Gamble, among others.

Rashida Jones, who was Jim's love interest Karen in season 3 of The Office, has had a successful career as an actress, writer and producer. Her films include Cop Out, The Social Network, Our Idiot Brother, Celeste & Jesse Forever and On the Rocks. She starred in Parks and Recreation as Ann Perkins, she starred in the TBS comedy Angie Tribeca and the Netflix series #BlackAF. Her writing credits include 2019's Toy Story 4. In 2018, she co-directed the documentary about her father, Quincy, winning a Grammy Award for Best Musical Film. That same year, she welcomed her son Isaiah with Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig.

Ellie Kemper brought her bubbly attitude from The Office to her performance on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, receiving two Emmy nominations for her starring role on the Netflix series, which ran for four seasons. She reunited with her former castmate Kaling on The Mindy Project, playing Heather in three episodes. Kemper also appeared on the big screen in Sex Tape and Home Sweet Home Alone. She voiced animated characters in The Secret Life of Pets and its sequel, The Lego Batman Movie and Smurfs: The Lost Village. The actress has two children with her husband Michael Koman.

Paul Lieberstein not only played the HR manager on The Office, but also served as writer, director, executive producer, and showrunner for all nine seasons of the series. Since then, he has remained primarily behind the camera as executive producer of The Newsroom, Ghosted and Space Force, although he has made appearances on Bad Teacher, The Mindy Project and People of Earth, and wrote and directed Song of Back and Neck in 2018 and Out of Office in 2022. In 2008, Lieberstein married English professor Janine Serafin Poreba at the Battery Gardens restaurant in New York.
