Now that Manchester United have decided to stick with Erik ten Hag, the rumour mill has continued to link players with a move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
An opening bid for Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite has been turned down already. Reports have indicated that United may look elsewhere due to the Toffees' continued reluctance to lower their asking price.
The Red Devils are after two new centre-backs as well as a centre midfielder and a striker, with a right-back and right winger also potential signings.
On Saturday, a number of new players emerged as potential targets. Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who has been linked with Arsenal and Barcelona, is now said to be on their radar with a potential £38m offer lined-up.
Surprisingly, prodigy Kobbie Mainoo has been linked with a surprise move away from the club. Various reports in Spain have claimed that Barcelona are interested in the midfielder. That is just paper talk, though.

Where is Rashford?
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been omitted from the England squad for the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany following a hugely disappointing season.
Rashford has been a regular feature for England manager Gareth Southgate throughout numerous international campaigns, notably during the recent World Cup run. His introduction from the bench was eagerly anticipated by many fans during the Qatar campaign, as he netted three goals in just 137 minutes of play throughout the entire tournament.

Eriksen answers his critics
Before the tournament, Eriksen had to deal with some criticism for his inclusion from former Everton and Real Madrid midfielder Thomas Gravesen.
He said:
Is [Christian Eriksen] at 80 percent? Or is he at 70 percent? Or 50? Or 20? We have no idea, because he doesn’t play, and that’s a problem. Christian Eriksen at top level is an exceptional player, but where is he at the moment?

Neville fires Hojlund message
Gary Neville has been discussing Rasmus Hojlund ahead of Denmark's Euro 2024 clash with Slovenia, which is just about to get underway.
Hojlund had to endure a tricky first season at Old Trafford and United great Neville has backed the Dane to come good.
Neville was speaking on ITV ahead of Slovenia vs Denmark and said:
If you think what United have done to players in the last ten years, they have broken seasoned internationals who signed for big money. The lack of stability at the club in the last 12 months, all the changes, in particular at the top. They have basically got no centre forwards other than him, he's got wide players who are out of form that weren't giving him the type of service he needed. He's got 16 goals from 35 starts and most of all he proved...he stood up that kid. Most of all during the tough times this season he was the one I though 'what a personality he's got'. That's all you need, I think he should have been supported more by having a more experienced striker alongside him. But they couldn't get one in, it was all left to him and I think he has had a good first season and he has got the potential to be something pretty good.

Sancho future decided
Our writers have had their say on what Erik ten Hag should do with Jadon Sancho when he returns to United.
He's not far off linking back up with the Reds with the winger returning from loan duty with Borussia Dortmund and given he is not with England, he's going to be coming back earlier than some of his team-mates on international duty at Euro 2024 and Copa America.
With a broad range of opinions on a very topical - and divisive - subject, we have put together our thoughts on how United should proceed with Sancho.

Xavi Simons analysis
MEN Sport's Josh Holland has looked at recently-linked Man United target Xavi Simons.
Where would he fit into United? The first impressive attribute of Simons is his ability to play in two completely different roles. At PSV, he played 19 games (seven goals and six assists) at left wing and 17 games (11 goals and four assists) as the central attacking midfielder.
For RB Leipzig, he played 23 times on the left (five goals and seven assists) and 18 times on the right (five goals and five assists), although Marco Rose's style of play often saw him and Dani Olmo play as playmakers with the two wing-backs providing width.
Where would he fit into the United team? His adaptability means he could help Ten Hag solve two different problems, including the burden currently weighing on Marcus Rashford's shoulders. The forward's undesirable form has led to him being linked with a transfer out of Manchester, but in reality, some quality competition is all he needs.
Simons is also the ideal profile to challenge Bruno Fernandes as Ten Hag's most offensive midfielder. The Portugal international, like Rashford, has often dipped in his performances due to the lack of rest.
The player himself inserted a clause in his PSG contract that means he decides which club to play for if he has options. With a Dutch manager in charge, United may be in a greater position to sign the playmaker this summer - even if it is just temporary for one year.

Ten Hag on TV tonight
United boss Erik ten Hag will reportedly be on Dutch television this evening for coverage of England's game with Serbia.
According to reports on X, formerly Twitter, Ten Hag will be a pundit to cover the Three Lions' first Euro 2024 game on NPO. However, there hasn't yet been any official confirmation.

New centre-back target boost
Manchester United have been labelled as the potential destination for Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio.
According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, United are 'sharpening their claws' to trigger the centre-back's €60m (£50m) release clause before the end of the month.
Inacio is another name linked with a move to Old Trafford in their hunt for alternatives to Jarrad Branthwaite.

Luke Shaw update
England boss Gareth Southgate has claimed he has a decision to make on Luke Shaw ahead of today's game with Serbia.
"everyone is available. We have a decision whether Luke [Shaw] is possible to use from the bench or not. But everybody has trained today and is available," he said.

A look at De Ligt
The likes of Marc Guehi, Bremer and Jean-Clair Todibo have all been identified as cheaper alternatives to Branthwaite, however, a new name in the mix is Bayern Munich wantaway star Matthijs de Ligt.
After the Bavarians endured a troubling Bundesliga campaign, Vincent Kompany is now at the helm and is overseeing an overhaul of the playing squad. A list of players have reportedly been made available for transfer with De Ligt one of them.
The centre-back joined the club from Juventus for £65.5m in July 2022 but has failed to perform at the same levels he produced at Ajax. And as Man United fans will be aware of, that form came under Ten Hag.
Reports in Germany have suggested Bayern will demand £42m for De Ligt this summer, lower than United's opening bid for Branthwaite. Despite being three years older than the Everton defender, De Ligt should still be a favourable option for United.

Mourinho plots Lindelof reunion
Jose Mourinho has identified Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof as a priority target to strengthen his Fenerbahce defence.
Ex-United boss Mourinho was appointed as boss of the Turkish club last week and is already looking at reinforcements after they finished second in Super Lig.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Mourinho has identified Lindelof as a priority target to strengthen his defence at the start of his Fenerbahce reign.

Juventus plot Sancho bid
Juventus have reportedly sent Manchester United an offer to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juve have stepped up their interest in the 24-year-old and have sent over a proposal to United.
The report claims Juve want him on loan, but will need help from United to cover his salary, which is said to be around £7.2million per-year.

£228m triple raid 'planned'
It's reported by Correio da Manha Weekend that United are eyeing a £228m triple raid.
Benfica stars Joao Neves, Antonio Silva and Fredrik Aursnes are said to be on United's watch list. The Reds are claimed to be ready to submit offers for the trio after Euro 2024.
Neves has a release clause of £100m but it's understood United chiefs believe a lower fee can be agreed.

United plan Zubimendi move
Manchester United are planning an opening bid for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
According to Catalan newspaper Nacional, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is eyeing up an offer of £37.8million, though that is expected to fall short of Sociedad's asking price.
Zubimendi has a £50.5m release clause in his contract.

Mainoo's United stance
Following the reports in Spain that Barcelona were keen on Mainoo, MEN Sport writer Tyrone Marshall has provided an update on the midfielder's situation.
United have been relaxed about the situation for months given he still has three years left, plus the option of another year, on his current contract. Having waited for the season to finish first, Mainoo's remarkable rise now means he is spending the summer at a major tournament.
It is just a matter of time, however. United won't sell Mainoo and he doesn't want to leave his boyhood club. At some point in the not-so-distant future he will pose for the obligatory photo with pen in hand, smile fixed on the camera, ink about to be applied to contract.
Until then, United can probably expect another fanciful story or two linking the shining star of their academy with another club. But right now there's only one club for Kobbie Mainoo.

Branthwaite alternative?
An unnamed Premier League side have made a £42.3m offer for Man United target Leny Yoro.
According to the Express, though, Real Madrid remains the defender's dream destination and a move to England isn't favourable in his camp. However, Lille and Los Blancos are yet to agree on a fee.
Erik ten Hag has set out to replace Raphael Varane at Old Trafford this summer. Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite has been earmarked as their priority with Yoro a potential alternative.

United threaten to walk away from Branthwaite
United's pursuit of Branthwaite continues to provide many twists and turns.
According to The Mirror, United will threaten to walk away from a deal for the defender after Everton turned down their opening bid worth £43m with add-ons.
United have no intention of matching the £70m asking price and will inform their Premier League rivals of their willingness to move onto alternative targets if an agreement can't be made.

Revived goalkeeper interest
Man United are reportedly back in for Japan international Zion Suzuki despite the goalkeeper turning them down last summer.
According to journalist Dean Jones, United have never lost interest in the 21-year-old. Suzuki opted to join Sint-Truiden in Belgium but Altay Bayindir could leave the Red Devils.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones said: "United have never lost interest in the player so it does not surprise me to see new stories about them wanting him.
"The problem is he does not fancy sitting on the bench playing second fiddle to Onana and there really is no sign that Onana is going anywhere soon.
"He has said he would like to test himself in the Premier League but if he said 'no' to United a year ago then I don’t see why that would change now, because he still wants to be a number one. And one position not up for grabs this season is United’s first choice keeper."

Xavi Simons enquiry made
Manchester United are one of many top teams who have reportedly reached out to Paris Saint-Germain about the potential signing of Xavi Simons, according to L'Equipe.
The Netherlands international impressed on loan at RB Leipzig and his future in Paris continues to be unclear. United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester City have all enquired.
PSG are likely to prefer a loan move instead of a permanent one due to a significant portion of the transfer fee going to PSV if he's sold before January 2025.
